What is the role of warp yarn in machine carpet?
Warp thread plays an important role in machine carpet in the construction and design of tarpaulins and carpets, it is similar weft thread. These threads act as the main threads of the width of the carpet and are strong enough to keep the carpet stable during use. Threads are made of various materials including cotton, cotton and polyester blend and polypropylene (pp).
In terms of fiber length, warp yarn can be classified as continuous filament fibers (such as BCF) which are made from continuous polypropylene fibers or short fibers such as cotton and polyester. The choice of thread material depends on the type of carpet and the use.
How to use warp thread
In machine-made carpets, the warp threads pass horizontally under the carpet and are combined with the weft threads, which vertically increase the length of the carpet. This process is done automatically using specialized machines and depends on the speed of carpet production.
Threads in machine carpets are usually used as cotton or polyester and BCF and a combination of cotton or polyester. The selection of yarn materials for carpet production depends on the resistance, beauty, and price of the carpet.
What are the types of thread?
The warp thread in machine carpets can be prepared from short fibers such as cotton and polyester or a mixture of both in the form of a single ply yarn with a score of about 20 metric and it is used in multi-ply for carpets with different combs. The higher the comb score is, the less the number of threads that are placed together will be, for example, 20 six-ply threads are used for 500 and 440 combs, or 20 three-ply and 20 four-ply combs are used for 700 and 1200 combs.
These single-ply yarns are placed and spun together in several layers in the ring machine depending on the required amount, and are used for twisting on the knitting roller in the twisting stage, or continuous fibers such as BCF in the form of multiple strands of fibers. Based on the required grade in the spinning stage, the number of fibers are placed together. The required grade is prepared in the twisting stage, and in the texturising stage, the required subwave and the welding point required to connect the fibers are given to the yarn at certain intervals until it is ready. The chela stage is twisted.
Final stages
In the twisting stage, the warp yarn is wrapped around the weft yarn or weft yarns to prepare the carpet surface. This stage of the machine carpet weaving process is very important, because the pattern and different designs of the carpet are formed in this stage. Various techniques and settings are used in Chele Pichi to create various and beautiful designs in carpets.
Since the thread of the machine carpet is made of different materials, this choice has a direct impact on the resistance, beauty and final price of the carpet. On the other hand, the way of orientation and combination of warp yarn with weft yarn also plays an important role in finalizing the design and quality of the carpet.
